A new look at housing in the city - PETRŽALKA CITY

Perforated sheet metal used as a railing panel means quality without compromise. The modern PETRŽALKA CITY apartment building is a proof that architecture can be also done differently in the 21st century.

Our capital boasts a truly unconventional project – the one that clearly stands out with its architecture from an enormous number of competing projects.

The Petržalka housing estate in Bratislava does not need to be presented in any special way. However, most people think of it as the so-called "concrete jungle". Petržalka acquired this adjective in the 1970s and already at this time it was the most populous part of Bratislava. Nevertheless, it was possible to breathe in a new dimension to this typical concrete greyness thanks to a unique project - PETRŽALKA CITY.

Rusovecká road matching the bend of the Croatian contributory was at first sight an untapped and hidden investment potential for Dipl. Ing. Arch. Ondrej Bobera and the developer as well. The modern PETRŽALKA CITY apartment building is a proof that architecture can be done differently in the 21st century.

The architects were aware that they must definitely impress by the exterior. And they cared about every single detail. The combination of wood, concrete, glass and sheet metal really adds a touch to the building.

The dominant element of this project are balconies and loggias. They capture your attention immediately. The railing looks as if the panels were made of glass. However, it is a perfect optical illusion.

The client's request was clear. They needed a material that was durable, safe, yet aesthetic and affordable. And at this stage, we put our hand to the plough. To fill the railing we recommended the client to reach for the stainless steel perforated sheet metal with round holes Rv 8 – 11.

This material not only meets all the required criteria, but its maintenance is also a great advantage. Unlike glass, it needs almost none. Dust particles are not caught on it, raindrops are not visible, and moreover, due to the properties of stainless steel, it retains its original beauty for an indefinite period of time. That is why, its functionality cannot be doubted.

And although in this project at first glance we can see an incoherent combination of shapes - arcs and edges, the final impression is very attractive.

In addition to residential and commercial areas, the whole complex will be completed by parks. It is the symbiosis with nature that is to give this project a new dimension.
