Perforated aluminium sheet is the material of the future. It is being used more and more in modern architecture. Although in the past it was used mainly as an easily accessible and cheap material on industrial buildings, today architects and designers will not say a bad word against it, what is mainly due to its functionality, minimalist design and easy maintenance.

Expanded metal has become a part of exceptional exterior and interior implementations. Proof of this is the headquarters of the company Phoenix Zeppelin in Banská Bystrica. Under the baton of architects Štefan Moravčík, Branislav Hovorka, Martin Paulíny, a modern administrative and service building was built, which is the only one of its kind in Slovakia. Its uniqueness was also appreciated by the professional public. It won the most prestigious Slovak architectural award CE. ZA. AR

Wondering what gives this building a touch of uniqueness? It is the materials that were used.

During the construction, the architects emphasized the design of the exterior. That was crucial to them. Thanks to our advice, they decided for a really specific building cladding.

We recommended the client to use perforated aluminium sheets - expanded metal with a diamond mesh MR 165x55x20x2 mm which are complemented by tiled surfaces made of compact boards. These are in yellow-orange colour which are the company's corporate colours. In addition, the metallic character perfectly corresponds to the client's engineering focus.

Expanded metal optically unifies the building, works as a shading system for the western and eastern facades and when the weather is nice, it also creates a perfect shadow play.

Functionality, safety, cleanliness, perfect surface finish and minimalism. These were the main criteria of the client in the implementation of the exterior. And they met them all down to the least particular.

This is called a combination of unique design and exceptional materials.
