AZ TOWER – a celestial skyscraper in the Czech Republic

Also thanks to us, you can get closer to the sky.

Ecological, modern, timeless and economical. Exactly these are the terms that are most often mentioned with the building of AZ TOWER in Brno. It is the tallest building in the Czech Republic. An impressive 111 meters makes it truly striking.

You ask what this “giant” is for. There are residential, office and commercial premises. The ones you find here are the only ones of their kind. The whole construction system is elaborated to the smallest details. As the authors themselves say, "In the apartments situated on the top floors, you will find a hidden piece of sky."

AZ TOWER has become an integral part of the Brno panorama not only because of its record height. The overall looks of the exterior attracts the attention of the surroundings. This was undoubtedly the goal of the architects Aleš Burian and Gustav Křivinka. White-orange skyscraper enthrals you at first sight. The unusual double bent of one of the two blocks forming the mass of the building is really atypical.

The facade itself consists of a combination of glazed ceramic tiles and expanded metal. When choosing materials, the architects placed particular emphasis on being environmentally friendly. This is a project in which ecology played an important role.

And since expanded metal can be defined as a material with long life, low demands, high durability and functionality, the choice of the project implementers was clear. After consultation with our team of experts, the contracting authorities decided for the expanded metal with diamond mesh MR 115 x 51 x 20 x 2 mm. For a compact, architectural detail, hot-dip galvanized steel was chosen as the material for the facade.

AZ TOWER became a landmark of Manhattan in Brno. It is elegant, luxurious and really special. Just like the architects wanted it. In addition, on its top you will find a viewing platform, where allegedly problems of terrestrial character will disappear. Yet at a height of 111 meters above the ground, it is really easier to find that little piece of sky. And we were honoured to be able to contribute to it.
