Even today's architects want to design something extraordinary. The Italian architect Massimilian Fuksas looks at the world from a different perspective than an ordinary person and it is him who is the author of the Bory Mall project in Bratislava.

The location between Devínská Nová Ves and Lamač, where the modern shopping and entertainment centre was to be built, was also suitable for atypical and innovative solutions. Being a renowned designer and architect, Massimilian’s ideas were clear from the beginning.

He already knew in his first sketches that he wanted to create something that you would not find in Slovakia. A building which looks takes your breath, but at the same time you will fall in love with it at first sight.

It was clear to him that the exterior must have a fascinating appearance that would attract the attention of the surroundings. The shopping centre itself is spread over three floors and occupies an area of 54,000 square meters. And this is a truly respectable number. The architect really did his best to design an extraordinary facade. It consists of design façade tiles combined with glass.

The unique things of the centre are exceptional architectural features and green spaces both indoors and outdoors. And since the whole building was under the scrutiny of the media, it was clear that care should be taken in the smallest, at first glance, unimportant details. Since we know that the details form a whole, we lent a hand.

The investor approached us in connection with the covering of indoor air-conditioning and fencing of the exterior. Since the whole interior is designed in a minimalist spirit, it was clear to us that we must choose the adequate material matching this spirit. In this case, we recommended to use the aluminium expanded metal with diamond mesh MR 115 x 52 x 24 x 1.5 mm. As far as colour is concerned, we have again tried to maintain a clear line and simplicity that the entire shopping centre carries.

 

The fencing of the exterior was supposed to be just the perfect finish to make the whole centre look uniform, luxurious and elegant at the same time. And for this reason it was recommended to use the aluminium expanded metal with diamond mesh MR 115 x 50 x 20 x 1.5 mm. 

 

We have to say that we have succeeded in creating a modern business - entertainment centre of a family type. The one that is, from the architectural point of view,
absolutely unique in Slovakia.

In the future, Bory Mall is to become the centre of the newly formed district. There is an ambition to expand the city to the northwest. It is the first development plan of this scale in the Slovak Republic. And we are grateful that we could be part of such original projects.
