Building material of the 21st century. Do you use it in your projects?

The trends in architecture are constantly changing and people are looking for more and more ways to make their buildings as original and stylish as possible. Expanded metal, perforated sheets, metal gratings, wire screens and sheets are ideal for this purpose due to their variability of use in the exterior or interior. They are slowly becoming the building material of the 21st century.

Originally used as technologies in agriculture, food, chemical or mining industries for cleaning, filtering and screening materials and crops, these products have flourished in architecture and construction industries only in recent years.

Perforated sheets and expanded metal have huge potential for architects and designers because they can choose a type of material, thickness of the sheet, size and shape of the mesh or a final colour themselves to suit their project. By varying these features, innumerable alternatives can be achieved to provide functional, practical and aesthetic solutions to architectural and design ideas.

These products are really widely used. Perforated sheets can be used to create various panels for railings, floor gratings and fences. They can also be used as a stylish partitions between two spaces, as a ventilation cover or design ceiling.

The choice of material depends on a place of use (the interior - exterior). Materials which are mostly used are stainless steel, aluminium, Cor-ten steel, brass or ordinary steel, which is subsequently galvanized or painted to brighten up the space.
